How to care for your Outdoor Engineered Timber Furniture.
Engineered Timber (Polywood) is made from high density Polyethylene (HDPE).
Polywood is a recycled plastic that is weather resistant, easy to clean and a durable alternative to solid timber.
Polywood does not expand and contract like normal solid wood and will not crack or split from changes in the environment.

General Care

  • Regularly remove dirt, dust & debris with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Clean spills immediately. Clean the surface with a damp, soft cloth and a diluted, mild detergent. Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. Do not use excessive force when cleaning.
  • Do not use chemical or abrasive cleaning products.
  • Avoid direct contact between sharp objects to prevent scratching and scuffing.
  • Polywood is sensitive to extreme heat. Polywood should not come in contact with direct heat or hot objects. We always recommend using coasters, place mats, tablecloths and table runners to protect furniture surfaces from heat and stains. Do not place hot objects directly on the surface and keep away from open flames such as fire pits or barbeques.

Important Considerations

  • Speak with your Designer to ensure the products selected are suitable for your specific environment as well as discuss the level of maintenance that will be needed.
  • Your outdoor furniture may require different levels of care depending on the environment in which it is used. In general, monthly cleaning and maintenance of your outdoor furniture is recommended to help prevent damage.
  • As coastal/seaside environments may accelerate development of natural salt deposits and deterioration of your outdoor furniture, it is important to consider that products used in these locations will require frequent maintenance.
  • Consider storing your outdoor furniture during the off-season or extreme weather to avoid preventable damage and deterioration. To store, clean the product thoroughly and let it dry completely. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Do not store in humid or high moisture environments.
