Marble & Stone

How to care for your marble & stone furniture.
No two pieces of marble are the same, which makes it a beautiful and unique material to have in your home.
Marble forms over thousands of years and continues to develop its colour and tone over the course of its life.

General Care

  • Dust surfaces regularly with a microfiber cloth
  • For light cleaning, wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly with a microfiber cloth to prevent spotting.
  • Marble & Stone is naturally porous and all spills should be cleaned immediately. Blot the spill with a lightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
  • Use coasters, place mats, trivets, table cloths and table runners to protect furniture surfaces from heat, stains and objects with abrasive finishes that may scratch your furniture.
  • Avoid contact with products that have acidic properties, such as wine, juices, detergents and corrosive liquids. Contact with acidic items can dull, etch or stain the stone surface and can also destroy the sealant (if applied).
  • Do not let spills settle on the surface as the moisture from spills and/or sweating from cold liquids can be quickly absorbed by porous surfaces.
  • Do not leave objects in the same position on the furniture over long periods of time to prevent permanent discolouration.

Important Considerations

  • Speak with your Designer to ensure the products selected are suitable for your specific environment as well as discuss the level of maintenance that will be needed.
  • Every piece of marble is unique – no two pieces are the same. Every piece of marble will have its own distinctive veins and patterning. The colour and tone of marble will develop and change over time.
  • Marble & stone are naturally porous. It is important that care guidelines are followed to avoid staining and discolouration.
  • The type of sealer used can vary from product-to-product. Ensure you check the product specifications to confirm the final finish on your marble & stone item.
  • Our marble & stone products do not have a UV protective coating.
