With over two decades in the fashion and interior design industries, Lisa Hunter brings a refined eye and a deep passion for creating beautifully curated spaces. Her global experience as a fashion buyer and designer informs her expert approach to colour, texture, and composition - blending timeless elegance with contemporary insight.

We sat down with Lisa to explore her distinctive styling philosophy and the inspirations behind her work.

What is your professional background, and how has it influenced your work today?

My career began in the fashion industry. I spent over 20 years as a fashion and furniture buyer and designer, traveling the world and honing my eye for colour, texture, and composition. Fashion and interiors are intrinsically linked—both require understanding materials, balance, and how different elements work together to create something beautiful and functional. That experience shaped how I approach interior design today—I love creating spaces that feel curated and cohesive, blending beautiful pieces with thoughtful layouts to create homes that are as functional as they are stylish.

Describe your business's style and customers.

At Lisa Hunter Interiors, I specialise in creating modern, warm, and timeless spaces with a distinct Australian feel. Every design is intentional, layering natural materials, soft textures, and vibrant palettes to craft inviting homes that feel effortlessly curated. I always focus on quality materials and thoughtful design, ensuring each piece is selected for its ability to add warmth, texture, and a sense of everyday luxury.

Are interiors your obsession as well as your profession?

Without a doubt! Interiors are my passion and my happy place. Whether sourcing unique pieces, styling a space, or rearranging my living room for the tenth time, I love every moment of the process. There is something so rewarding about turning a new house into a home that reflects the people and personalities who live in it. Installation day is one of the most rewarding parts of the process. Coordinating an entire home's delivery and styling in a single day takes careful planning, but the moment my client’s step into their transformed space and see everything come together makes it all worthwhile.

What is your favourite GlobeWest piece/collection and why?

Choosing a favourite GlobeWest piece is no easy task, but if I had to pick, I would say the Kennedy collection. The curved lines and natural materials balance modern and timeless, making it versatile across different projects.

How does a typical day for you unfold?

Every day is a little different, and that's part of what I love about my work. Mornings usually start with emails and client meetings or site visits, followed by team catch-ups to align on project progress. Afternoons are often spent sourcing furniture, developing concepts, or perfecting mood boards. There's always a moment of creativity, whether discovering the perfect piece or refining a layout.

What is next for Lisa Hunter Interiors?

I am working on a couple of very exciting projects, including a full home furnish and style project in Brighton, Melbourne, for clients returning from the USA and a stunning Palm Springs-inspired beach house that I'll be decorating from top to bottom. As my business grows into a small team, we remain focused on creating beautifully curated, move-in-ready spaces that reflect our clients' styles. We continue refining our signature end-to-end furnishings service, ensuring every client enjoys a stress-free experience.
