What’s your professional background, and how has it influenced your work today:

I was in the marketing and events industry for 26 years with a stint in real estate sales back in 2002. Bungalow Home was inspired by my love of real estate and interiors, and I guess my previous experience in marketing and event coordination has helped us to really hone in on what makes a home desirable from a sales perspective.

My real estate background has helped us understand the importance of creating an aspirational home for people to fall in love with using beautiful furniture and enhancing its best attributes.

Are interiors your obsession as well as your profession?

Absolutely! Gosh, I probably shouldn’t admit this, but there are more interior inspiration images on my camera roll than of my adult children! Who does that?!

Where did you first develop an interest in interior design and decoration?

Probably 15 years ago when I renovated my own home, I engaged in an interior designer before I was part of the industry. It made me realise the power of correct design, furniture selections and placement and how these elements work together to create the right feel in a home.

Describe Bungalow Home’s style and customer?

I’d say our style is relaxed, modern, coastal which works really well in our location on the Gold Coast. Our customer is someone who loves interiors and wants to create a calm soothing home with beautiful quality furniture pieces. We also love working with real estate agents, developers and aged care facilities when they want to create something truly amazing.

What’s your favourite Globe West piece / collection and why?

There are so many favourites, but I have to say my heart is definitely with the Natadora Morocco sofa – it's my absolute favourite piece. I love the neutral colourway and its modular design so that you can customise a lounge to suit every home. Its relaxed, super comfy and beautiful in its simplistic design.

What interior staple could you not live without?

Rugs and cushions – they just finish off a space perfectly. Without them, a room looks slightly underdone.

How does a typical day unfold for you?

Mmmm, that’s a tough one. I try to plan it down to the last second, but it never seems to go that way. Generally, I meet with my team every morning and we discuss our current and future projects. We meet with clients, have a few good laughs in the office and then I head home and collapse on the lounge.

What’s your creative process:

First, we are always searching for new inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest etc so that our team is continually up to date with the latest trends and furniture collections. Then, we like to meet with our clients and get a brief on what they are trying to achieve in their space. Based on their feedback, we create initial concepts for them to approve and then once approved, we wait for our favourite part of the process – installation day!

Who and/or what inspires you?

There are so many incredible designers out there it would be hard to name just a few, but I find that our natural surrounds, and international travel inspires me greatly. I really love the Mediterranean aesthetic and anything earthy with organic textures.

What’s your dream project?

Renovating a Mediterranean style villa with epic ocean views and filling it with my favourite pieces of furniture.
