Toppling Furniture Safety Guidelines

What Is Toppling Furniture?

Toppling furniture refers to freestanding pieces such as drawers, bookshelves, cabinets, or consoles that may tip over when pulled, climbed on, or if weight shifts unexpectedly. These incidents are especially dangerous in homes with young children. From 2000 to 2019, Australia recorded 27 deaths from toppling furniture - 67% involved children under the age of 5.

Our Safety Commitment

To help prevent toppling injuries, GlobeWest ensures that all furniture with a high toppling risk:

  • Includes an Anchor Kit and installation instructions

  • Has a Permanent Warning Label affixed directly to the product

Following the guidelines provided with your furniture, always install the anchor kit(s) before use.
