What has influenced your work today?
Our work is influenced by a passion and deep belief that everyone deserves to love the space they are in, whether it’s a home they own with a family to grow, a home they rent, holiday in, an office space, a hotel to unwind or a restaurant to relax, laugh and eat.
The spaces we surround ourselves in, plays into our overall contentment, our feeling of safety, security, and comfortability. At the end of the day, who I am, is a simple person who believes that anything is possible. I embrace the mindset of "just have a go" and approach each opportunity with enthusiasm and gratitude. Our surroundings impact our mindset and our feeling of belonging, we all deserve this. This is what drives and influences my work today.
When did you develop an interest in Interior Design and Styling?
From a very young age, I had an innate desire to make my space, my home, a place to be proud of, a place I wanted to be in, a place that reflected who I was. I came from humble beginnings, my beautiful parents worked extremely hard for what we had, and in comparison, to my friends, it wasn’t a lot. I set out to transform our family home, step by step, piece by piece, purely working with my own imagination and creativity.
It used to make me happy to change my bedroom around 10 million times a year, and do the big reveal to my parents (I vividly remember standing behind them as I would usher them into my bedroom with eyes closed until I gave the green light to open!), that was the best. It wasn’t just about wanting to have a nice home for me, it was also the real desire to transform our home for my parents to enjoy, they were such dedicated parents, the joy of seeing them love the space they were in became my driving force.
Tell us a little about BOWERBIRD - as it is now, and your business journey.
BOWERBIRD, as it is now. Well, right now, we are scaling our business for the future. In a nutshell and for those who are reading about us for the first time, founded in 2013, we are an Australian-built, family-run business, specialising in both Property Styling and Interior Design. We work across three main client verticals; Private Residential, Commercial Residential and Special Projects.
We offer a complete, end-to-end design solution, with a focus on efficiency and cutting-edge technology. With over 60+ incredible employee’s (our village), all housed under our 4,000sqm warehouse, with a substantial fleet, and a well-stocked product range, we have extensive design experience, innovative marketing capabilities and robust operations that support our relentless commitment and dedication to creating spaces for people to connect, to love and to live.
The business journey hasn’t been easy, life throws its curveballs, but we embrace them with a flexible spirit, always finding a way to overcome challenges and emerge stronger. I also vow that I am forever a student, continuously learning and expanding my knowledge. I think this is sometimes where people get it wrong, they think at a certain point, they’ve learnt as much as they can ever know, and it changes their behaviour and attitude. Never become too comfortable, it will be your undoing. We are where we are today, because we welcomed diversity, and team members that brought something to the table that we didn’t have.

Tell us about BOWERBIRD’s new Interior Design Services and how it came to be.
I love this question, because our Interior Design service isn’t new, it’s just that we’re talking about it more. Interior Design became a natural step in our customer journey. We would style someone’s home for sale, and then we would receive feedback that they loved it so much they didn’t want to sell it! So we started to offer styling their home to keep, instead of to sell. Which became a very natural extension of our business, and increasing the investment with our clients by supporting them in each phase of their property journey, from the sale of their home, to the design of their new home.
Our Interior Design service crafts immersive environments. From initial design concept and floor plan analysis to furniture and accessory specification, our Interior Designers curate inspiring spaces that tell a story. We proudly offer an end-to-end design solution, managing your entire project to the very end with a white glove delivery service. We believe that your home should reflect your family and lifestyle and that there is no greater feeling than the joy you feel when at home with your loved ones.

What's BOWERBIRD’s dream project?
Oh, don’t get me started on Bohemian Rhapsody. Yes. This is the name of our resort that I have dreamed of and imagined for over a decade, it’s a project that’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. This is a very personal ambition for me, and lucky for me I have a husband that can make anything happen! If I was to put it into words, Bohemian Rhapsody, is a big British Colonial compound, preferably in the Bahamas, (haha!).
What's your favourite GlobeWest piece and why?
I recently I did a makeover in MY home (for a change!). Our home has been pretty much transformed, head to toe with GlobeWest. A piece I an loving at the moment is my Tide Isle Dining Chairs, to be clear, I am a massive fan of woven textures, anything woven I am in! These chairs really give me a hint of the Bohemian Rhapsody lifestyle I am living for.
