Architectural Detail
When selecting homes for a shoot, we look for spaces that complement our products. Beautiful materiality, interesting architectural features, natural light and unique angles all play an important role in how a space will photograph and how well it can support the story of the collection.

One of the homes we selected for our latest shoot was a stunning residence in Toorak, designed by Architect, Powell & Glenn. From the street, the home presents as a traditional Victorian heritage property, with a classic façade that reflects the history of the neighbourhood. The rear of the home has been completely reimagined, creating a striking architectural contrast between old and new.
Throughout the home, the architectural details are beautifully considered. Sculptural staircases and beautifully designed stairwells create strong visual moments, while the material palette is layered and refined. Ceramic elements appear within the tiling, adding subtle texture and craftsmanship to the spaces.
The rear of the home introduces a more contemporary feel, with a gorgeous concrete finish and terrazzo flooring that immediately catches the eye. These materials add depth and character, creating a backdrop that feels both architectural and warm. The combination of traditional heritage features at the front and modern, textural finishes at the back made this home particularly special and visually dynamic to shoot in.
Why We Chose The Home
The Toorak house offered incredible flexibility for our shoot, with a wide variety of materials, textures and spaces throughout the home. This diversity was a key reason we chose it, as it not only allowed us to capture a range of looks while maintaining a cohesive visual story, but also reflected the range and versatility of our own product offering.
The Collections 2026 Volume #02 range we photographed featured strong sculptural forms and a rich sense of texture. Many of the pieces feature carving, layered materials and tactile finishes, so it was important for us to select a location that could complement and contrast these elements.

Tova Occasional Chair, Atlas Decagon Side Table, Theron Flume Small Floor Sculpture, Rufus Vault Set of 2 Bookends
The home’s material palette provided the perfect setting. Terrazzo floors, concrete surfaces, marble backdrops and ceramic details created beautiful layers for styling and photography. These materials allowed our furniture to stand out while still feeling connected to the architecture of the space.
One of the most exciting moments from this shoot was capturing the front cover image in this home. Set against the stunning terrazzo flooring, we photographed the sculptural Tova Occasional Chair and Theron Flume Floor Sculpture, both designed by our Melbourne based in-house design team. These pieces share strong organic forms and textural detail, which worked beautifully within the architectural environment.
We also loved the way the home’s concrete finishes contrasted with our organic solid timber and timber veneer pieces. This interplay between raw architectural materials and warm natural textures created a striking visual balance.
The Toorak house gave us the layers, textures and architectural interest needed to showcase the Volume #02 range at its best, bringing together design, materiality and form in a way that felt both natural and inspiring.
