Established in 2015 by Bianca and Marcus, Granite Lane was born from a shared vision to bring something new and inspiring to Perth’s design landscape. Guided by a refined eye for detail and an appreciation for timeless style, Granite Lane embodies the art of beautiful living, thoughtfully curating exclusive Australian furniture, designer homewares, and considered interiors that elevate the everyday.
We recently sat down with the team to discover their inspiration, styling tips and dream projects.
Tell us about Granite Lane and how you got to where you are today.
Granite Lane began from a shared love of design and the belief that beautiful spaces can transform the way we live. What started as a boutique furniture and homewares store in Perth has grown into a full design studio and retail destination - curating interiors that reflect simplicity, functionality, and timeless appeal. Our journey has been shaped by a passion for quality craftsmanship and meaningful connection with our clients.
What’s your favourite GlobeWest piece/collection and why?
Hard to choose just one! The Seb, Oberon, and Pluto collections are standouts for us - each one captures the perfect mix of form, texture, and timeless design that we always look for.
What interior staple could you not live without?
A well-crafted armchair. It’s where you start and end the day - a small luxury that instantly grounds a space and adds warmth. Everyone gravitates to our swivel armchairs when they visit.
Where do you start when designing a space from scratch?
We always begin with how the space should feel - calm, inviting, functional. From there, we define a palette inspired by natural tones and materials, and layer form and function to create a cohesive story throughout the home.
What are your top three styling tips to elevate your home?
Get the proportions right – the right size pieces make all the difference. Oversized or undersized furniture can throw off the balance of a room, while well-scaled items create effortless cohesion and comfort.
Invest in what you love – trends come and go, but a piece that speaks to you will always feel right. A considered mix of meaningful design and personal style creates lasting appeal.
Engage with a stylist – you only choose furniture a few times in your life, so don’t be afraid to get it wrong. Working with a stylist, whether in-store or through a design studio, can help you refine your vision and make confident choices that feel true to your style.
How do you stay inspired?
We draw inspiration from travel, architecture, and the natural landscapes of Western Australia. Collaborating with talented makers and clients keeps our perspective fresh and reminds us why we love what we do.
Is there a design trend you’re loving right now?
We’re embracing a return to authenticity - organic shapes, tactile finishes, and a slower, more intentional approach to design. There’s something so beautiful about spaces that feel lived in and truly personal.
Our team is also loving the renewed confidence in colour and texture. We’re seeing clients lean into richer palettes and bolder fabric choices, and we love curating unexpected combinations that still feel harmonious and timeless. It’s all about creating depth and personality through layering - pieces that invite touch, comfort, and conversation.
What’s your dream project?
A coastal retreat that blurs the line between indoors and outdoors - something calm, connected to nature, and designed for slow living.
What’s next for Granite Lane?
We’re continuing to grow our design studio and expand our curated retail offering, with an ongoing focus on connection and experience. At Granite Lane, we’re incredibly proud of our showroom - it’s more than just a place to shop; it’s a space to be inspired. Every member of our team is an experienced stylist who takes the time to understand each client’s needs, offering genuine, considered advice to help bring their vision to life.
