At Home with Erin Holland

At Home with Erin Holland

Feb 22, 2022

Former Miss World Australia & TV Presenter Erin Holland recently styled her first home, working with an interior professional to personalise the stunning new coastal apartment.

A creative in her own right (Erin is also a classically trained singer), Erin quickly felt comfortable putting her trust in Nicole Rosenberg of Liberty Interiors.

"I could not recommend working with an interior stylist (Nicole specifically) enough. As someone who is a complete novice in interior style and design, she made the process so easy and enjoyable for me! Once she had an idea of the style I wanted, I let her completely have free reign to create something special. I've always been of the opinion if you bring in a professional, then let them do their job! It's the best way to end up with something incredible." Erin explains.

Erin describes her newly refreshed apartment as a mix of contemporary chic & Hollywood glam. "I've never had a space that I've been particularly proud of, or comfortable entertaining in, so it is such a wonderful feeling to have a place that I love having people over in! I also lead a fairly hectic life, traveling (even now!) most weeks and forever on the run. This place feels so homely and relaxing, I love coming home and actually having a night in to unwind." Says Erin.

Nicole chose a number of GlobeWest pieces to transform Erin's coastal Sydney apartment into a chic abode. "If I absolutely had to choose my favourite GlobeWest piece in the home, I'd have to say my Amara Marble Coffee Tables. They are such a beautiful shape and colour, plus are incredible quality, i know these won't date and I will have them forever!" Explained Erin.

What drove your product choices for Erin?

Having not met Erin in person, and starting this project in the midst of Covid last year, I had to delve into her personality and style over the phone and via her Instagram account – I started to get a pretty good understanding about how she lives her life and the kind of style she likes from looking at her fashion. One thing that did surprise me in getting to know Erin is that she is a real home body – she really loves hanging out at home and living a somewhat quiet life when she is not working so whilst I wanted to make the apartment reflect her personality I also wanted it to have a homely, relaxed and calming feel.

In discussing couch options with Erin she did have one wish and that was to get a couch that her now husband, Ben Cutting, would feel comfortable on! Having the Vittoria Luisa in my own home I knew that this was a great couch choice that not only looked high end but that also ticked the ‘comfort level’ box with it’s feather and fibre inners.

Furnishing her first home was daunting for Erin as it would be for anyone. I was able to support her on the journey and encourage her to take some risks with colour. We had so much fun injecting personality such as her glamorous dressing room!

What’s your favourite GlobeWest product you selected for Erin?

I love the white Nixon dining chairs. Most of my clients are families with young kids so I was so excited to finally be able to specify an upholstered white dining chair for Erin who is yet to start a family! I particular love the Nixon because it looks so great from any angle with its beautiful curved back shape and tapered upholstered leg it really brings a level of sophistication to the space without it feeling stuffy.

You chose our Lyon Outdoor set for Erin’s outdoor area, why did you choose this setting and do you have any advice for outdoor living with small spaces?

In working with Erin’s balcony which was only 2m in width I really wanted to find some outdoor furniture that didn’t feel bulky and that didn’t have solid arm rests which would have closed in the space. I also didn’t want something too boxy so that’s why the Lyon range suited this space so perfectly with it’s curved soft pillowed edges and open arms it really kept the space feeling open and not cluttered whilst offering maximum seating space for guests. As this was a smaller space we opted for side tables only that could easily be moved around rather than having a larger coffee table that again would make the space feel cluttered.
